Showing Relation (i particle)

1 min read · 92 words

To show relationship* between two things, the particle i is used, which functions similarly to the English word “of,” except the former of the two pieces is the one that experiences the relationship, so the order is flipped from English. Rather than “oasis of the people,” as it would be said in English, in Spinta, “people” precedes “oasis.”

Examples:

Tuiqfan - “oasis of the people” - tu + i + qfan

faitsini - “sand of the dry riverbed” - fa + i + tsini

*Ownership cannot be shown with the particle i.
