Origin of the Language

Munchiyon, literally meaning "angel-talk," is a language believed to have been created over 3,000 years ago that was spoken amongst the Mun. The first findings of this language were on old makeshift pieces of paper with symbols painted on with a black ink.

The People who Speak it

Munchiyon is a language spoken by the Mun. A majority of the Mun population consists of atheists, however, most do still believe in the supernatural (to an extent), just not supernatural beings like gods or deities. Though alongside these beliefs, the Mun also use the idea of gods in a lot of their culture, including a sun, moon, war, and a god for every element. Mentions of these gods are common amongst readings and even everyday speech as a form of symbolism for almost anything you can think of.

This widely used use of gods for symbolism started because of the agreed upon statement that the best way to understand and connect to nature is to give everything human-like traits and personality that people can relate to and recognize.

Meaning Behind the Flag

The Mun's flag has three parts to it:

  • The crescent moon in the center represents the moon goddess, who is viewed as a caring and loving mother to the Mun.

  • The wing to the left of the moon represents all the Mun that the moon goddess watches over at night (the word "Mun" literally means "angel").

  • The three stars to the right of the moon represent the 3 founders of the Mun culture.
