Fou Tong
by booQorm
A Germanic language evolved to sound like Standard Chinese. Brought to East Asia in Antiquity by a Germanic tribe that switched to nomadism, and then did what the Huns did - only in the opposite direction. Over 99% of the words are derived directly from Proto-Germanic. Isolating, analytic, tonal, with heavy use of classifiers. Pinyin is used as main writing convention, though the language is thought to be written in custom script, combining Hanzi keys using first principles (i.e. Germanic phonetic components) to create symbols.
